A woman and a man were arrested Sunday night for allegedly forcing a 20-year-old woman into a car during a gang rape on Interstate 10 near Brinstar and Brimfield, police said.

The 25-year-old driver and woman of Asian descent were sitting in a white Toyota Tacoma that was stopped at an exit about 8:30 p.m. Sunday near Highway 60 and northbound I-10, according to Houston police spokeswoman Const. Cindi Campbell-D'Angelo.

The victim reported that she was being harassed while walking home in the area of 12th and Bridal Drive.

The victim told police that she and the victim had a brief fight during which the victim hit her head. She went back to her car with the suspect but was forced out of the vehicle on the side of the road by her attacker and later found the victim, who was unconscious, a nearby house and a friend of hers, according to police.

Police said the victim told officers she and the suspect had sex and then the suspect drove away in the car.

Police said the suspect was described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s, about 185 pounds with a square jaw and short dark hair.

A man driving the vehicle was questioned and told officers the woman asked him to put a condom on his left foot, police said. The suspect said he never put the condom on, police said.

Authorities said the victim reported that the woman came up behind her on Jan. 5, around 9:30 p.m., pulled the victim into a back seat of the vehicle and sexually assaulted her.

The victim reported that the victim was able to kick the suspect off of her and move her to a safe location.

Police said they are investigating the incident as a sexual assault. The victim told police that she did not know the vehicle the suspect was driving or whether the suspect knew where she lived.

Investigators have asked residents to remain on the roads and report anything suspicious or unusual to the Crimes Against Sexual Assault hotline at 214-671-TIPS. The anonymous hotline can be reached by dialing 1-800-893-5865.

The museum, with an exhibit called "We're Not Done yet: How We Can Get the World Back Together, And Still Build a Better Houston," will keep opening.

"We're not done yet," museum director Bill Munch, who spoke on Thursday morning for more than a half-hour before the closing ceremony, said before opening a display of posters celebrating Houston's diversity.

Munch said the museum will be open as many as five times in 2018, including an exhibition opening Feb. 1 on the city's transformation from industrial to urban. It's on the National Register of Historic Places, and will become available this spring for the public.

He said the museum can handle a large influx of tourists after the upcoming Houston Marathon. Munch said museum volunteers had already spent six days getting volunteers to flood out their front doors on Feb. 15, a Friday, a week ahead of the anticipated crowds. The floodwaters from the Marathon flooded the city's main thoroughfares, leaving tens of thousands of visitors stranded.

Munch said people should not worry about security. The city still has an officer patrolling the museum.

"Just bring a friend. We've got a great location and an awesome environment," he said. "If you want to make a trip to the Museum Center, you can drop it off at the Museum Center."

The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
